Yes! We found the AppartHotel Pavo Art Hotel pleasant and ideal for a low-budget stay to discover the capital of Crete and the surrounding area. In our opinion, it’s one of the best hotels in Heraklion. It offers not only good value for money, but also attentive service and comfortable rooms. We’d recommend this establishment for your stay in Crete, if you’re looking for affordable accommodation offering pleasant rooms with fully-equipped kitchens. We felt right at home here.
Decoration and atmosphere
The atmosphere at the Pavo Art AppartHotel in Heraklion is both sober and elegant. We particularly appreciated the works of art displayed in various parts of the common areas and rooms.
You’ll particularly notice the mural that decorates the hotel lobby, adding a unique, artistic touch to the reception area.
What’s more, we found the hotel staff extremely friendly, warm, helpful, attentive and always smiling. Their kindness and professionalism greatly contributed to making our stay most enjoyable.
HAVE FUN in: Crete
The room
Our room was simple, uncluttered, clean and functional, decorated with works of art by local artists that added a touch of elegance. We particularly appreciated its warm ambience, created by the addition of warm colors like pink or orange and materials like wood and velvet.
The elegant, colorful furnishings make the room pleasant and cozy. We enjoyed the small wooden desk for working in peace and quiet, and the pretty pink sofa for relaxing in front of the flat-screen TV on one of the bedroom walls.
We also appreciated the shelving unit with rack and safe, making it easy to store our belongings for the duration of our stay.
We also liked the comfortable bed, with its pretty wood base matching the desk area. The multicolored headboard and orange bedside tables, topped with individual reading lamps, create a colorful, cozy space that makes you want to snuggle up with a good book!
Our room opened onto a pleasant little terrace planted with trees, ideal for breakfast before a day’s sightseeing in Heraklion, for example. This outdoor space is equipped with a table and chairs, as well as a deckchair for enjoying sunny days. If you’d like to benefit from a space like this, we recommend that you contact the hotel and ask for it. Indeed, when we arrived, the receptionist informed us that very few rooms in this establishment have a terrace.

The kitchen
The kitchen in our room was well equipped with oven, hob, kettle and coffee maker, fridge and microwave. Of course, we found cutlery, utensils, plates and glasses, as well as pots and pans. Everything needed to cook easily and comfortably. We also appreciated the presence of a host and a dishwasher, which make it easier to prepare small dishes by reducing odors and the burden of dishwashing.

The bathroom
In our room, the bathroom had a shower. We really liked the black and white marble patterns on the walls. Coupled with the matching furniture in the same tones, it made the whole look very elegant!
The bedroom toilet is not separate. They are located in the bathroom, next to the shower, with a glass panel as a divider.
To wash up, we used Apitiva cosmetics, supplied by the hotel. This added a touch of luxury to our stay. The whole bathroom was very pleasant, practical and comfortable.

- By car, Heraklion is easily accessible via Route Nationale 90 (E75), which runs along the north coast of Crete.
